Sunflower Star

This is not our photo, but we did manage to find one washing up in the tide. I wasn't sure if it was alive or dead, but I put it down and ran up to get the camera, and in the time it took me to stop for fish and chips (ok, it wasn't just the camera I was running up to), the tide came in and it was gone. It fit into my hand, and you could see at least three little extra arms growing in. So sweet!

It is hard to tell from this photo, but we found our first ever black sea star.

Arwen likes to rescue sea stars. When the tide goes out, she rushes around retrieving them and then returning them to the water. We egg her on, standing near the sea star, saying, "Ayudeme!" and then sing the Diego song to her as she runs back with the little "pet" as she calls it (or sometimes "baby") to the shore.

The Jelly from the Abyss

We found a lovely big, lion's mane jellyfish at the French Creek marina. Unfortunately, Judah found that they do still sting a little even after they are dead...

Isn't it beautiful!!!

Little Green Bug

Ioan found this little green bug in the garden.
